He completed his residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center in Texas, the largest medical facility operated by the United States Air Force. Prior to pursuing a career in aesthetic medicine, Dr. Matthews practiced internal medicine. His interest in non-surgical treatments prompted him to change fields and focus his expertise on noninvasive cosmetic enhancement. He has been a respected cosmetic surgeon serving the Irving area for many years.
